Part of oxygen molecules are splitted into two atoms, one oxygen atom recombines with an oxygen molecule forming ozone molecule:<\/p>\n<p>O + O<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0= O<sub>3<\/sub><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-205\" src=\"https:\/\/loiteh.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/1_0.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"195\" srcset=\"https:\/\/loiteh.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/1_0.jpeg 450w, https:\/\/loiteh.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/1_0-300x130.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ozone can be produced from the oxygen of air as well as from the pure oxygen. In the first case a proper drying of air up to the dew point of (-50&#8230;-55\u00b0C) is required to avoid formation of nitrogen oxides and nitric acid.<\/p>\n<p>Energy consumption for 1 kg of ozone production from air is in the range of 12&#8230;13 kWh. When the feed gas is pure oxygen, the energy consumption is almost twice lower: 6-7 kWh per 1 kg of ozone.
